Canadian Pride

Wow!!!  That’s all I have to say about the Vancouver 2010 Olympics!  Canada is doing great with everything they are doing!  I am so proud of all the athlete’s, even if they don’t win medals, many of them are doing personal bests or competing even with injury, or dealing with a death in their family!

The athlete’s are so strong, both physically and mentally.  They work their bodies and their minds to be in peak performance.

I can remember  competing at the high school level for swimming, and lots of what I did was mental practice.  Visualizing the race, seeing myself swim it, and be victorious in the race.  I wasn’t the “number one” swimmer on my team, but I had the heart and determination to keep going no matter what was going on.  And my coaches loved that about me.  I cheered everyone on, from the rookies, the crew I swam with and the ones above me too (when I was in the middle years of high school).

And that’s what I’m doing with the Olympics…cheering everyone on.  I’ll watch any sport that Canada is in.  And today the women of Canada have done us proud!  4 Olympic Medals in one day!  Amazing job!  I never knew Canada had a strong women’s bob sleigh team, but I guess they do!  Gold and Silver in the 2-man bob sleigh!
